I Didn’t Walk in Here and I’m Not Leaving

In Ace Hardware and CVS Pharmacies all the aisles are meticulously labeled and orderly….and you can't find a thing. The categories make sense to the clerks but not the customers. The same problem often occurs in huge supermarkets or the warehouse giants like BJ's.

Why can't AI be used so that the customers can enter a shopping list and they are provided (at home or in the store) with a set of directions in the order of most efficient travel within the store and even a checkout amount that can simply be verified upon paying at a computer when leaving?

The answer is it that it can, but that thwarts the attempts to prompt impulse purchases while customers are lost and wandering the aisles. They don't want you to find things easily. When people climb Mr. Everest today, they often past prior and deceased climbers embalmed in the ice. I'm waiting to see the bodies swept under the frozen food units or the nuts and bolts section.

If we could get private guides in Morocco and China and Thailand, the can't we get one in Trader Joe's?
