Toxicity Sources

Toxicity Sources

Have you had it as much as I have with “toxic workplaces,” “corporate greed,” and entitlement in general?

My observation—and experience—is that most corporate employees, investors, and customers are doing just fine. They may have challenges and problems which arise in business, but no one is cheating them, or lying to them, or mercilessly beating them. What is occurring is people crying and moaning all over social media, in a desperate attempt to gain bias confirmation, that their unhappiness, lack of success, and overall misery about their lives are someone else's fault.

That is simply intolerable. If you're unhappy, improve what you do and how you contribute so that people appreciate you; or find a new job in an environment better for you; or go out on your own; or go sleep in your parents' basement (if they'll tolerate a complainer in the house). But stop blaming contemporary society and “toxic workplaces,” which is an existential excuse.

Look in the damned mirror.
