Alan Weiss’s Monday Morning Memo® – 11/11/13
November 11, 2013—Issue #216
This week’s focus point: Don’t look now, but the stock market is 3,300 points above its current 12-month low, having set another record. Housing, auto, and manufacturing are up. Luxury goods are up. The debt is reduced and the balance of trade is improving. The US is about a $15 trillion economy, far ahead of China, from which many manufacturers are bringing operations back to the US. Energy independence is almost upon us. And all this despite Washington gridlock! I am telling you that despite the gloom and doom crowd paid to depress us, it’s a glorious time to be an entrepreneur, independent, and innovative. There are people out of work and people struggling, and still progress to be made, that’s true. But if you are indeed reading this on a Monday morning, I’d suggest you look at the week ahead with optimism and energy, because that is what will propel you and those who need our help. Your clients and customers need your value to make the best of these times.
