Alan Weiss’s Monday Morning Memo® – 12/16/13
December 16, 2013—Issue #221
This week’s focus point: I’m watching professional football and it strikes me that there are three key elements that successful teams develop. First, they are good at fundamentals: blocking, tackling, receiving. Second, they capitalize on others’ errors, recovering more fumbles and intercepting more passes while committing fewer penalties. Third, they depart from a game plan to offer surprises and the unexpected when the opposition becomes accustomed to their patterns. That sure sounds like a successful marketing approach, as well.
Monday Morning Perspective: Victory? We have won a rock in the middle of a wasteland on the shore of a poisoned sea. — Peter O’Toole as Flavius Silva in “Masada”
