Personal Lies

Personal Lies

“Look, Alan, I really never have to make any more money,” is one of the most ridiculous excuses I've ever heard for failure to market, or missing deadlines, or non-responsiveness. If your  implication is that you're so wealthy that rules and demeanor of professionalism and civility really aren't all that important, then why are we even talking? Why don't you simply “retire” and watch TV until you die? Or, travel the world and see the sites until you've seen them all?

The truth is that we “work,” whether for money or interest or socialization or personal growth, to provide meaning for our lives and, one would hope, for others.

And I don't care how much money you think you have. I can always make another dollar, but I can't make another minute.
