LinkedOut

LinkedOut

LinkedIn has now blocked me for three days without any specific reason other than “violating their code of conduct.” Maybe that means I’m an intelligent human being who doesn’t put up with nonsense and who finds people who ask to link and then try to solicit me immediately to be morons.

I don’t need social media, let alone LinkedIn, but this is an example of where their algorithms and oafish procedures could undermine a business, ruin an event, and sully a reputation. These huge social media companies should be identified as public utilities and regulated. Right now, their self-regulation is facetious: biases, politicized, and secretive.

I invite you all to to go alan weiss.com where you’ll find (in addition to the blog you’re now reading) free newsletters which are weekly and monthly, free videos which are daily and monthly, free podcasts which are weekly, and a panoply of free textual materials.

Who the hell is the aloof and pompous LinkedIn to talk to any of us about “codes of conduct” when its own conduct is abysmal?
