A Good Ride

A Good Ride

Taxis in London are driven by people who speak English well, aren’t trying to eat while they drive, aren’t carrying on raging conversations on the phone, signal when they turn, don’t need GPS to lead them to the destination, are infallibly polite, and are very grateful for any kind of tip. The cabs have huge amounts of room and are easy to get in and out of, and are absolutely clean.

Ubers are driven by well-dressed drivers who call you “sir” and “madam” and jump out of the car to open doors for you. The cars are immaculate.

Somewhere, somehow, some time in the US we’ve taken a wrong turn.
