A Report on Reports

Just because someone has issued a “report” doesn’t mean it’s valid or accurate. It doesn’t matter whether the source is the government, academia, a research institute, a private business, or scientists. Always consider the source’s motives. Many “reports” are simply self-serving. (And many, on social media, are pure fiction.)

I love the “rave reviews” of new plays, where the critics say this: “A huge production of totally disappointing story lines and distinctive acting poor choices,” and the PR people quote the critics as, “A huge production….with distinctive acting….”
