DASM: Fly the Friendly (Private) Skies

DASM: Fly the Friendly (Private) Skies

The media reported this morning that Scott Kirby, CEO of the beleaguered United Airlines, hired a private plane to fly him to a meeting in Denver from Teterboro, a small airport in New Jersey just minutes from United’s hub in Newark. This is the airline, constantly the worst in service in tough conditions (and which, according to them, somehow is affected worse by weather than are their competitors), which has created long lines and chaos over the past week or so. it was reported that some passengers have been told it will take six days to reschedule them!

Mr. Kirby dutifully issued the pro forma apology this morning, saying that United wasn’t paying for the private jet, he shouldn’t have made that decision, he was insensitive—blah, blah, blah.

Are you telling me that he thought this was a good idea, announced his plans, and no one had the cajones to tell him it was world-class stupid? These people breathe their own exhaust all day long.

That’s why they need coaches who can bring in some fresh air.

Dumb-ass stupid management.
