Declaring War

It seems that I have to preface anything about politics with “this is not a political statement.”

There's a furor now about Congress not consulted about warfare and that Congress is the only body empowered in the Constitution to declare war. That is all factual.

The last time Congress actually declared war was in 1942. Since that time, both Democratic and Republican presidents have engaged in wars in Korea, the Middle East, Viet Nam, and Afghanistan, to name a few.

These are facts simply presented for your consideration.
