Dumb Ass Stupid Management: CVS, Who’s Minding the Store?

Dumb Ass Stupid Management: CVS, Who’s Minding the Store?

In East Greenwich, RI, where I live, the CVS store on Main Street has had one of its drive-through pharmacy lanes out of action for about three months. The lines at the store register snake into the aisles until the cashier wakes up and calls for help. When I ask why she didn’t do it earlier, her surly reply was, “I just did.” I’m constantly told “There you go” and “No problem” instead of “Thank you,” as if spending money in CVS is a requirement for which they are not thankful. I wonder if they think the Easter Bunny pays their salaries?

Last week, I encountered two kids, one with a skateboard, running and fighting in the aisles, taking candy off the shelves and hitting each other with it, then putting it back on the shelves. I pointed this out to an employee who was putting labels on merchandise.

With out looking up or missing a label, she said, “They do it all the time, we have no right to remove them, there’s nothing we can do, and besides, the parents would come in and give us trouble. If you want to talk to the manager, he’s around here someplace, unless he’s gone home.”

Which is where I went.
