If You Don’t Trust You, Then I Don’t, Either

If You Don’t Trust You, Then I Don’t, Either

If you don’t have enough confidence in yourself, your worth, and your contributions to make investments in your own development, even using debt to do so, then you’re never going to make it in this business. If you’re unwilling to take a prudent risk on yourself, why should anyone else?

I insisted that every board member on boards I chaired make contributions/donations to the organization. Everyone had to have “skin in the game.” I wasn’t about to go to foundations, individual donors, or corporations asking for money if we weren’t providing money ourselves. That wouldn’t be leadership, that would simply be begging.

If you don’t trust you, then I don’t, either.
