Is the Question Too Difficult?

Is the Question Too Difficult?

I’m an independent voter, and my comment applies to anyone running for office: When you’re asked a “yes or no” question, such as “Would you support a 70% marginal tax rate?” and you give a little speech about your philosophy and never answer the question, you have no respect for your audience nor their intelligence, If you can’t say “yes” or “no” to that kind of reasonable question, you don’t deserve to run for office and should stop trying to play in the big leagues.

And if you’re the moderator, and let the candidate drone on without demanding a “yes” or “no,” you’re no journalist and ought to find other work, maybe driving a bus, which has a set route.

This is why debates are a farce and nothing more than a side show.
