It’s Not Who Wins, It’s How Much Money Is At Stake

If you’re a private firm, and customers are down by 40%, employees and customers are becoming ill because you’re flouting proper health precautions, your senior management has been accurately accused and fired for sexual harassment and Holocaust “jokes,” and your services are tainted by employees and customers who feel isolated and abandoned—what happens to you? You probably are sued, go out of business, and disappear.

But the Olympics will be back in four years, the Japanese will brag about how well they went, and the television revenues will be distributed.

Perhaps in another four years they can hold the games under an active volcano. And there should be a category for greed.
