Jersey Shore III

Jersey Shore III

We had a fabulous day yesterday, fine weather, very warm ocean, and then a massive barbecue for family with me pouring some water down on my sister from the upper deck. I know, it was very juvenile. (But quite fulfilling.)

I took the girls in the water, unaware that waves were breaking from two different directions, and we were blindsided. I lost both of their hands, grabbed Gabrielle’s quickly, and then saw Alaina floating past me on her back with the receding wave, laughing hysterically. Everyone turned to watch, including the nearby lifeguards and my daughter. I scooped Alaina up, turned to the lifeguards and, like a wide receiver holding the ball up for the referee to indicate he had held on the ball, I held the girls up to the lifeguard. Touchdown.

Everyone settled back down. The girls thought it was fabulous.

They went on approximately 4,000 rides last night, walked all the way up and down the boardwalk, and pretty much exhausted everyone.

PS: Did you see “Newsroom” last night on HBO? It’s a magnificent show, Sam Waterston is beyond brilliant, and Jane Fonda is amazing as the owner of the network.
