Leveraging Performance

Leveraging Performance

People ask me all the time how many hours a week I work, how I can work so hard, how I create so much “bandwidth.”

The fact is that I “work” less than almost anyone. I don’t seek perfection, so I never rewrite or edit myself. I can live with imperfection. I think speed is important (responsiveness and reaction). And I try to avoid failure work at all costs, and never do other people’s failure work (outside of my own family!).

A large output doesn’t require a large input. It requires leverage, discipline, and self-accountability. And those being present mean that there is zero procrastination.

Just depressing the gas pedal a half-inch can rocket a car forward if the car has the capabilities.
