Oscar Move Crawl #4: Frankenstein

Oscar Move Crawl #4: Frankenstein

Frankenstein is a rather marvelous remake of the classic, with great location shots and cinematography (I don't care what's real and what are special effects). The monster is quite human (Jacob Elordi) and truly in grief, the locations are varied (we first encounter him in the Arctic and end that way—the story is told on an iced-in sailing ship) and Victor Frankenstein is the actual “monster.”  It is visually captivating, wonderfully acted, and mesmerizing. This is not a monster film, but rather an exploration of love, humanity, and great spectacle. It is an enormous streaming success. The critics generally love it and is clearly the best of the four films we've watched to this point.
