The coronavirus is awful, but scientists are saying that 80% of those infected have relatively mild symptoms. The Chinese have handled it horribly, which is not surprising in a totalitarian state. Many deaths could have been avoided with a better national response and without the attempt to cover it up.

There has been worse in the past and there will be worse in the future. As asteroid missed the Earth by a scant 5 million miles last week, traveling at 30,000 miles per hour and as large as three Empire State Buildings. That could have been an extinction event.

The Spanish Influenza in 1918 killed one third of the entire world’s population.

We are currently traveling on a hunk of rock at 80,000 miles per hour around an exploding star.

We need to recognize that we are not all-knowing and all-powerful, and start acting with a tad more humility. And, yes, you heard that from me.
