School Daze

School Daze

What does it tell you about our unfounded belief that everyone should attend college (and accrue all the silly debt and have the government take the ridiculous position that others should pay it off) that a history major can’t find work and an English major would probably make no more than $30,000 annually, but that you need to wait a month for a plumber or electrician and forget about new construction altogether. I can see a doctor for non-emergency issues immediately, but it’s taken six months to get a display case built in my garage.

There is no “great resignation” (or existential jailbreak) from people who have an important trade, work for themselves or own their own business, and remain independent. “College for everyone” is an expensive, misinformed, politically-inspired myth. Haven’t we all gone to college with a lot of people who weren’t helped or educated by one iota?
