Survival of the Smartest

Survival of the Smartest

I had occasion to take two cabs yesterday in Manhattan, because they were immediately available for my trips and it wasn’t worth waiting for Ûber. Both were clean and new, the drivers spoke English well, they knew exactly where I was going using GPS, and they got out and helped with the bags. I gave them 30% tips.

Maybe copying Ûber at a lower price instead of fighting them to defend your lousy service has finally occurred to the taxi industry, especially after the value of taxi medallions crashed.

This is the result of competition in a capitalist system. The government doesn’t step in and try to preserve poor cab service when better alternatives appear through entrepreneurialism. Survival of the smartest.
