The Act

The Act

No one is paying you to stand on a stage and recite a memorized speech. Or to use a “deck” of PowerPoint.

Buyers are in need of experts who can convey knowledge and interact with an audience to deliver value—large groups, small groups, physically-present groups, virtual groups, domestic groups, global groups. You’re not there for a “performance,” nor to please the audience or to gain plaudits for yourself. You’re there to meet and exceed the buyer’s objectives for the session (and the investment).

I don’t make presentations to audiences, I have conversations with the audience. And I never read feedback sheets, I have a meeting with the buyer after the session.

If you prefer being a performing seal, fine, but expect to balance balls on your nose and jump through hoops.
