The Pain Is Real, But….

The Pain Is Real, But….

Pain is unavoidable, but suffering is voluntary.

Many religions support time to mourn and grieve and atone, with the intent that it’s necessary and healthy to do so. But the times are restricted, and life then goes on.

With less than the severe loss, e.g., life, injury, natural disaster, and so forth, it’s even more important. We know that pets pass away, that there are business setbacks, that trips must be cancelled, and that goals won’t always be achieved. Those are aspects of being alive.

We need the resilience to persevere and not allow our entire lives and work to be undermined for prolonged periods. We have to deal with pain as best we can. But we can control suffering, and really need to in order to lead productive, contributing lives.
