Um…..

Um…..

On the one hand, the Emmy Awards seemed like a throwback, an anachronism, focusing on honoring shows that are 60 years old. On the other, there were shows and people nominated that I’ve never heard of or seen, and probably had a viewership of a dozen people haphazardly. In five years or so there won’t be network television nor cable television. But someone will still find out a way to hand out awards, dress people bizarrely, and have them say “um” 27 times while trying to articulate a brief “thank you.” (On TV shows you can cut and retake a shot. Not so much on live events!
