Walking Into Walls While Marketing

Here's how lazy people are and how useless mass marketing on social media can be. A woman asked to link yesterday, which I accepted, and today she wrote saying, “As a speaker, you've probably wished you could write a book but just can't get around to it. My partner and I can help you put a book together.”

All she has to do is visit a web site and find out to whom she is talking and trying to sell her services. She assumes her audience is somehow damaged and she can “save” them. If you can't identify your ideal customer, but just buy lists and plaster some juvenile, amateurish offer onto a thousand addresses, you're not going to get business. You're going to receive ridicule and never be taken seriously.

If you don't know how to market, get a coach. If you don't want to invest in a coach, then get a job in another line of work.
