Whining Down Under

Did you see the Australian woman swimmer’s rant about US teams and fans annoying her with a cowbell and chanting? She’s a “sore winner.” To be on the world stage as an elite athlete and not be able to accept the competitive atmosphere of team motivation and fans in support—well, that’s a women insulated in such a tight athletic community that she has no perspective about the real world. If you don’t like being in the limelight, and the rewards that come with it, then step out of it.

But stop whining, for God’s sake. That’s never going to be an Olympic event.
