Have you ever returned to an unfinished crossword puzzle the next day and found you had additional answers? Was it because you became “smarter” overnight, or you cheated and looked them up?

It's more likely that you're looking the second time without some of the constraints of the prior day, without the responses that didn't work, without some distractions, without a feeling of frustration. I'm always able to add answers the second day I couldn't find on the original try.

This applies to our lives and businesses. Unless there's a true emergency, give yourself a day (or more). “Flush away” the poor choices and frustration, and try anew. I believe too many people have been too fast to market under the mistaken belief that the first are in the best position. The early bird may, indeed, get the worm.

But the early worm gets eaten.
