Preservation

Preservation

I learned at the Louvre that there is an informal agreement among museums: Drawings can be on display for three months consecutively, but only in darker rooms, and then must be “retired” for three years to total darkness and not shown. This is to delay fading. (With daVinci drawings it’s five years.)

We can all fade through overexposure.
