If a company can do no better on their service site than offer a chat with a robot, then I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I also love the sites where you’re referred to other customers’ Q&A. In other words, let’s al of you help each other, no matter how imperfectly, so that we don’t have to bother with you.

Just as no company should be managed through its compensation system, no customer service effort should be led by IT. It’s wearying to use what technology people design for each other, and not the customer.

The latest trend is no manuals, just logos and arrows, and “quick start.” How about “quick leave”?
