Because of the Snow, I’ll Keep this Brief

Because of the Snow, I’ll Keep this Brief

Well, it's going to snow here in Rhode Island and all over New England today. It began about an hour ago, we have less than an inch, but they're predicting a couple of feet.

Ice began to retreat in New England 12,000 years ago, and the area has had snow ever since. That includes blizzards and terrible storms. Yet everyone acts as if it's a new event, and they try to hide under the couch, and hoard toilet tissue and bread, in that order.

I am managing to write this in my house at the outset of the storm. We have food, the birds are outside at the feeders, the dogs seem amused.

It's snow, for God's sake. When I was young, we couldn't wait to get out in it. Now, everyone cowers inside. Of course, when I was young we had sleds, not drones….
