Fog

Fog

This is our first morning in Nantucket this year that isn’t bathed in sunshine. There’s substantial fog, here on the beach, which I think is caused by cooler air being swept in over warmer water. It has its own allure. I can see the Atlantic about 30 yards away, but not the horizon.

However, out on the lawn it’s business as usual. The robins are patrolling and a couple of rabbits are munching, A seagull is drinking some fresh water off the pool cover. They’re all out despite the weather, taking care of themselves and perhaps their families.

I’m up doing my thing, finishing writing a book (Getting Started in Consulting fourth edition) and attending to overnight email and a couple of columns that are due. The animals and I are doing what we need to do to live and contribute.

Is your tendency to carry on no matter what, or do fold up when you meet the least resistance or unpleasantness? The latter is meaningless. The former perpetuates the species.
