How Much Time Are You Spending on Nothing?

How Much Time Are You Spending on Nothing?

Facebook has become a cesspool or radical comments, both left and right, allowing no room for other opinions. A great deal of it is factually wrong and/or ungrammatical. Confirmation bias on parade.

LinkedIn requests seem to assume that both parties are peers, or even friends, just by being commonly on a platform with 900 million other people.

Twitter is a massive attempt to gain numbers, as if this adds to one’s credibility.

I think social media will decline, not necessarily in numbers, but in quality, to the fact they are just venues where people scream at each other. My guess—I don’t know if it’s been researched—is that 75% of the posts come from 15% of the members, mostly those with extreme views.

Do you get all your “news” from social media? Then you’re probably uninformed.
