Looking Good

Looking Good

Showing up for my semi-annual physical, my doctor said, “You’re obviously healthy.” I find that many doctors immediately estimate whether someone looks sick or healthy before a single examination or test.

When I’ve look at auto dealerships, I don’t care about the showroom, I look in the service area to see how clean it is and whether precautions are in place around the cars. In a restaurant, I look to see if the tables are promptly bussed. These are my signs of “healthy” businesses.

In my clients I watch for unanswered phones, messy desks, and overflowing trash.

My doctor still does the tests, of course, and I can forgive some poor practices or a bad day. But the book IS often reflected by the cover.
