Maybe We Should Have Gone with the Monarchy Thing…

Maybe We Should Have Gone with the Monarchy Thing…

Some animals do eat their young on occasion. I’ve been told it’s to retain proper numbers in the hunting environment or to weed out the weak, or that we just don’t know why. It’s not pleasant to consider.

However, we tend to turn on anyone who doesn’t agree with us, no matter how small the matter or how much of a minority view it may be. President Biden was barely in office before his erstwhile staunch supporters (even the New York Times) began to question his ability, priorities, and even cognition! (The president’s and vice president’s staffs, reported in the media yesterday, are now combatting each other.)

The ultimate result of this pillorying of public figures is that the best people are reluctant to have their lives put under a microscope and their actions subject to harsh and sometimes violent resistance. It seems as though it’s mainly those people with a lot of ego, or a lot of money, or a lot of need for power who pursue highly public positions. Just look at Andrew Cuomo, if you can still find him.

In the end, we all get the kind of government we deserve. God help us.
