Routines are highly important to center you and create motivation. Here’s an example:

  1. Start your day with some small “victory,” like a new breakfast prepared or a faster run.
  2. Organize the day around a maximum of three personal and/or professional priorities.
  3. Make three calls (referrals, clients, prospects, etc.).
  4. Post one item (blog, social media, YouTube, etc.).
  5. Offer someone help.
  6. Engage in an interest (hobby, sports, the dog).
  7. Exercise (walk/workout, whatever).
  8. Read the Wall Street Journal and your hometown newspaper.
  9. Spend some time on the long-term (book, intellectual property, new offering, etc.)
  10. Give thanks, be appreciative, look around in awareness.
  11. End your day by reviewing your accomplishments
