Every professional services firm or practice is in the marketing business. If you can’t market the benefits of your services, but instead focus merely on your methodology and/or technology, you may survive but you”ll never thrive. And if you can’t take rejection and learn from it, you’ll never be any good at marketing.

Three strikes and you’re out:

  1. Poor marketing skills and/or willingness to market
  2. Defensiveness, where you do not accept feedback from respected sources
  3. Poverty mentality when you think it’s all about making and preserving money

My solution? Get a great coach, or find another line of work, or you’re “out”!
