If You’re Not Recommending People, They’re Not Recommending You

If You’re Not Recommending People, They’re Not Recommending You

I asked a fencing company for a quote for a long fence through the woods on my property. It came to $20,000. But they insisted, on top of that, that I should hire people to dig a trail for them to move their equipment. They told me they didn't have such people and I had to go find them. They didn't get the job.

I have editors, graphics people, trademark experts, bookkeepers, tax accountants, and so forth I can regularly recommend to people for things I can't, or don't choose, to do. That helps ensure I receive the business I can do and choose to do. Are you sending poeple away simply because they need services you can't personally perform? Imagine a realtor who doesn't know a painter, or a painter who can't recommend an electrician.

If you don't want a perpetually small business, you can't have a perpetually small mind.
