Bora Bora III

Bora Bora III

Our “way station” after Sonoma is the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Ray, where I originally took refuge on 9/11 when I realized I couldn’t get back home. The staff and property are incredible, and I stayed for a couple of days before deciding to drive cross-country with a client. Now it’s my hotel of choice in LA.

You can have all your meals on the club floor here where the food is wonderful, overlooking the marina. We spent part of the day at the pool, where a sea gull alit to take advantage of the heated water, and then on to LAX for the eight-hour Air France flight to Papeete. We change there to a small Air Tahiti plane for Bora Bora.

I lived right down the street from this Ritz-Carlton when I lived in Marina del Rey about 7 years ago. Although I’ve never stayed there, I would occasionally run into tourists who said the hotel is phenomenal. Marina del Rey is a beautiful area of LA and I frequently go back when driving to the LA area from San Diego. Have a great time in Bora Bora and be sure to tell us about it when you return!

Keep reading here. We’re in the Air France first class lounge right now!

I agree with you about Marina del Rey, and this Ritz-Carlton is amazing.

Figuratively, this hotel is only a stone’s throw from my home, and I ride by it almost every day. You happened to hit fabulous summer weather! Did you go back to the sushi bar in Venice? Safe travels ….

Marina Del Rey is an oasis in the L.A. area. I always look forward to staying there. Might be a great venue for a Mentor Summit!

We are ensconced in one of the most beautiful suites I’ve ever been in. Breathtaking.
