The Cable Guy

The Cable Guy

Cox Cable told me the other day that I merited their latest, fastest modem, the it was free, and that they’d overnight it to me. I installed it and then returned the old one in the same box, postage paid. I wasn’t having any issues with the old modem, but Cox was afraid that it wasn’t meeting my needs. The new one is clearly faster.

A friend of mine used to advertise his training materials as “software for the human computer.” I wonder how many of you aren’t upgrading your “modems.” Your old ones are slow because they are based on old operating systems (old beliefs), poor construction (overly labor intensive), and incompatibility (not assimilating new developments).

Just because you’re doing well doesn’t mean you’re doing as well as you should be doing. Sometimes you need  an expert to remind you of that, remind you that your speed could be even better.

Just consider me to be the cable guy, although I’m always on time.
