Your People Will NOT Talk to My People. I Am My People.

Your People Will NOT Talk to My People. I Am My People.

I’ve noticed that people with virtual assistants take longer to get me things I need: a calendar appointment, a bio for an interview, a photo for an article, scheduling information, etc. But people with whom I deal directly have what I need immediately.

If a virtual assistant doesn’t speed things up but creates the need for more time investment to manage and oversee the tasks, then we’re just talking about ego here. “My assistant will take care of it….” “I’m reaching out on behalf of…”

When someone wants to interview me or for me to appear somewhere for them, I don’t deal through intermediaries of any kind. If their time is so much more important than mine that they can’t make personal contact, then I don’t see the point in a relationship.

I’m waiting for the virtual assistant’s virtual assistant. Give me a break.
