Here’s What, Why, and How (to fix it)

As a problem solver, use empirical evidence to discover the extent to which things are happening. This will limit the area to be studied (what, where, when, how much).

Then ask “Why” it’s happening, and use interpretation of evidence to find the cause.

If you can’t readily find the cause, use speculative reasoning to arrive at possible causes (not blame).

Then use testing of your causes against the empirical evidence to determine the most likely cause. (How well does the cause explain the effects?)

Problem solving is that simple if you remove politics, blame, and people who don’t have critical thinking skills.
