Nearly every morning this time of year I’m rescuing a frog or a mouse from the pool skimmers. I’m too late for some, but I save quite a few. I scoop them out and send them on their way into the woods or toward the pond.
I don’t do this merely out of ethical concern. I do it because I believe I’ve been scooped out of some skimmers in life by an unknown hand, and I need to pay back.
