Those Were the Days….

Early in my career I was flying Air Canada from Montreal to Vancouver. I was the only person in first class. At one point the steward came to me and said, “The captain asks if you’d like to sit in the cockpit for a while.” I said, “Yes I would!” I sat in the jump seat for a half-hour, and they let me play with the radar (it could look down, sideways, and up) and some other cool stuff.

Today, you’re just about strip-searched to even get near a boarding gate. The cockpit door looks like a vault at Bank of America.

Just some perspective for those of you who might need it.
