All the News that (We See) Fit to Print
The way it is these days is that if you’re obtaining your news from only one source you’re not getting news, you’re solely getting opinion. If we want to be well informed we need to diversify our news sources because the old line between news and editorial has long since disappeared. I don’t need a TV news “anchor” or a newspaper reporter to give me an opinion, I just want the facts.
The late Mayor Buddy Cianci of Providence, who had a long-running feud with the Providence Journal, would point out: “If I walked across the surface of the river tomorrow, walked on water, the Journal would report, ‘Mayor Can’t Swim.'”
