The Ups vs the Downs

The Ups vs the Downs

I’m weary of listening to “ideal leadership traits” and “what makes great teams” and all the rest of this nonsense, as though there are answers in the back of someone’s book.

Let me simplify: If you’re not growing, your declining. There is no stasis for humans or organizations. If you’re on a plateau, you’re eventually declining because plateaus all erode.

The only way to consistently grow is to innovate. Nothing earthshaking, necessarily. Incrementally is fine. But if you’re not innovating—raising the bar and improving—you’re not growing.

And in case you think you’ve got a good speed going with little effort, the only direction in which I’ve ever seen people coast and build speed is going downhill.
