Business (Not) As Usual

There is nothing as strong in obtaining business as your willingness to walk away from it. When you act as if you must have the business, as if your survival depends on it, you are obsequious and fawning. When you’re evaluating whether you want to work with a particular prospect and consider your own needs, you are a potential partner.

Most people ask, “How can I help?” I’m sure I can help. The question I ask is, “Do I want to help?”

The only worse business than no business is bad business.
